This cacao is grown by over 50% female farmers who imbue this cacao with their strength & spirit. 70% of the farmers are under the age of 35, so this cacao contributes good livelihood to a vibrant young generation of farmers.
Work with this cacao to experience strengthening in your soul and your power. It feels like a steady drumbeat under the mountain. Enjoy consistent and classic chocolate flavor notes reminding us of a childhood hot cocoa, chocolate fudge and chocolate truffles.
Directions: Combine about 25 cacao discs with a touch of sweetener, or drink pure. Add 3/4 cup (6oz) hot water, tea, or milk (~180°F). Use a blender or electric frother to mix for 10 seconds. You can of course adjust this recipe to use more or less discs. And you don’t have to make a drink, you can also eat the chips just as they are. We don’t recommend using coconut milk because the combination with cacao gives about 1 in 20 people a stomach ache. It’s also good to know that with dairy milk, the dairy protein (casein) can bind to flavonoids and decrease their bioavailability so overall it reduces antioxidant absorption.
